EFEKTIVITAS PENDEKATAN PEMBELAJARAN RME (REALISTIC MATHEMATIC EDUCATION) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN LITERASI MATEMATIS SISWA SMP AL FAQIHIL MUQODDAM

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui keefektifan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP Al Faqihil Muqoddam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperiment dengan desain one group pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Al Faqihil Muqoddam kelas VII A dan VII B tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Sampel penelitian ini adalah Kelas VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik yang digunakan untuk menentukan kelas eksperimen menggunakan Teknik Purposive sampling (dengan pertimbangan). Instumen yang digunakan untuk pengambilan data adalah tes dan lembar observasi. Test yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pretest dan posttest yang dilakukan untuk tes kemampuan literasi matematis peserta didik, lembar observasi digunakan untuk melihat apakah pendekatan pembelajaran RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) pada saat proses belajar sudah terlaksana. Data kemampuan literasi matematis di peroleh dari nilai rata-rata pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan pendekatan RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) mengalami peningkatan. Dapat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata nilai n-gain berada pada kategori sedang dengan nilai rata-rata n-gain 0,637. Kemudian hasil posttest peserta didik dengan jumlah siswa 15 terdapat 13 siswa yang mencapai Kriteria Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP) dengan rata-rata mencapai angka 79. Serta dilihat dari hasil posttest kemampuan literasi matematis siswa dengan kriteria sangat baik 60%, kriteria baik 33,3% dan kriteria kurang sebesar 6,7%. Dengan nilai rata-rata 79 berada pada kriteria baik. Hal ini menunjukkan keefektifan pendekatan pembelajaran RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) terhadap kemampuan literasi matemtis siswa.

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) approach in enhancing the mathematical literacy skills of students at SMP Al Faqihil Muqoddam. A quantitative research method was employed using an experimental design inte form of a one-group pretest-posttest . The research population included students from classes VII A and VII B during the 2024/2025 academic year, with class VII B selected as the experimental group through purposive sampling based on specific criteria. The instuments used in data collection consisted of literacy-based mathematical test (pretest and posttest), and observation sheets to monitor the implementation of the RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) approach during the learning process. The data on students mathematical literacy skills were derived from the average scores of the pretest and posttest. The findings revelead a significant improvement in students mathematical literacy skills following the implementation of the RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) approach. This was evidenced by an average n-gain score of 0,637, which falls within the medium category. Posttest results show the 13 out of 15 students out of 15 students met the Minimum Criteria for Learning Mastery (KKTP) with an average score of 79. In terms of performance categories, 60% of the students achieved a very good level , 33,3% were classified as good, and 6,7% fell into the poor category. With an overall average of 79 , the results fall into the good category. These findings indicate the effectiveness of the RME (Realistic Mathematic Education) approach in enhancing students mathematical literacy skills.
