Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan kuku palsu berbahan limbah plastik thinwall sebagai produk nail art wedding. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh pesatnya perkembangan industri kecantikan, khususnya nail art, serta meningkatnya permasalahan limbah plastik yang berdampak terhadap lingkungan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif evaluatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 30 panelis tidak terlatih pada uji kesukaan dan 3 panelis ahli pada validasi produk. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, lembar validasi ahli, dan angket uji kesukaan menggunakan skala Likert. Aspek yang dinilai meliputi bentuk, kerapihan, kekuatan, warna, estetika, kenyamanan, dan daya tarik produk secara keseluruhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kuku palsu berbahan limbah plastik thinwall memperoleh skor kelayakan sebesar 90% pada uji inderawi dengan kategori sangat valid. Hasil uji kesukaan juga menunjukkan seluruh indikator berada pada kategori sangat suka dengan nilai rata-rata persentase 89%. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa limbah plastik thinwall memiliki potensi besar sebagai bahan inovatif, estetis, dan ramah lingkungan untuk produk nail art wedding. Dengan demikian, kuku palsu berbahan limbah plastik thinwall dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan sebagai nail art wedding sekaligus mendukung pengurangan limbah plastik dan inovasi kecantikan berkelanjutan.

This study aims to determine the feasibility of artificial nails made from thinwall plastic waste as a wedding nail art product. The research was motivated by the rapid development of the beauty industry, especially nail art, and the increasing problem of plastic waste that impacts the environment. The study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive evaluative method. The research subjects consisted of 30 untrained panelists in the preference test and 3 expert panelists in the product validation. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, expert validation sheets, and a preference test questionnaire using a Likert scale. Aspects assessed included shape, neatness, strength, color, aesthetics, comfort, and overall product appeal. The results showed that artificial nails made from thinwall plastic waste obtained a feasibility score of 90% in the sensory test with a very valid category. The results of the preference test also showed that all indicators were in the very like category with an average percentage value of 89%. These findings prove that thinwall plastic waste has great potential as an innovative, aesthetic, and environmentally friendly material for wedding nail art products. Thus, artificial nails made from thinwall plastic waste are declared very suitable for use as wedding nail art while supporting plastic waste reduction and sustainable beauty innovation.
