ETIKA SOSIAL DAN KEADILAN DALAM TEOLOGI KONTEMPORER

Abstrak

Jurnal ini mengkaji secara mendalam tentang etika sosial dan keadilan dalam perspektif teologi kontemporer. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana berbagai arus teologi kontemporer, seperti teologi pembebasan, teologi feminis, teologi ekumenis, dan teologi kontekstual Indonesia, merumuskan konsep keadilan sosial dan mendorong gereja untuk terlibat aktif dalam transformasi masyarakat. Dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka dan analisis hermeneutik teologis, jurnal ini menemukan bahwa teologi kontemporer secara konsisten menekankan bahwa keadilan bukan sekadar nilai etis abstrak, melainkan merupakan ekspresi kongkret dari kasih Allah yang harus diwujudkan dalam realitas sosial politik. Para teolog seperti Gustavo Gutierrez, Jurgen Moltmann, Miroslav Volf, dan Nicholas Wolterstorff telah memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam membangun kerangka etika sosial berbasis teologis yang relevan untuk konteks masa kini. Implikasi praktis kajian ini menuntut gereja untuk menjadi komunitas profetis yang memperjuangkan keadilan struktural, membela kaum marginal, dan berpartisipasi dalam pembangunan masyarakat yang bermartabat. Dalam konteks Indonesia yang majemuk, gereja dipanggil untuk menjadi agen rekonsiliasi dan keadilan yang melampaui batas-batas denominasi dan agama.

This journal provides an in-depth examination of social ethics and justice from the perspective of contemporary theology. The study aims to analyze how various currents of contemporary theology, such as liberation theology, feminist theology, ecumenical theology, and Indonesian contextual theology, formulate concepts of social justice and encourage the church to engage actively in societal transformation. Employing a literature review and theological-hermeneutic analysis, the study finds that contemporary theology consistently emphasizes that justice is not merely an abstract ethical value but a concrete expression of God’s love that must be realized within socio-political realities. Theologians such as Gustavo Gutiérrez, Jürgen Moltmann, Miroslav Volf, and Nicholas Wolterstorff have made significant contributions to constructing a theologically grounded framework for social ethics that is relevant to the contemporary context. The practical implications of this study call upon the church to serve as a prophetic community that champions structural justice, advocates for the marginalized, and participates in building a society characterized by dignity. Within Indonesia’s pluralistic context, the church is called to act as an agent of reconciliation and justice that transcends denominational and religious boundaries.
