This study was motivated by the importance of climatic factors in influencing the development and attack level of the leaf caterpillar pest (Plutella xylostella) on cabbage plants. In Kuanoel Village, Fatumnasi District, South Central Timor Regency, leaf caterpillar pest attacks are one of the main constraints that can reduce cabbage production. The purpose of this study was to determine the condition of climatic parameters, namely air temperature, humidity, rainfall, and sunshine duration in Kuanoel Village, and to determine the relationship between climatic parameters and leaf caterpillar pest (Plutella xylostella) attacks on cabbage plants. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The study population consisted of cabbage farmers affected by the pest, totaling 150 people. A sample of 60 farmers was selected using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires and field observations, while secondary data consisted of climate data from 2020–2024. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the assistance of IBM SPSS. The results showed that there was a relationship between climatic parameters and the intensity of leaf caterpillar pest attacks. Climate change, such as rising temperatures and changes in rainfall patterns, can trigger increased pest attacks. The conclusion of this study is that climatic parameters can be used as indicators to predict leaf caterpillar pest attacks on cabbage plants. The results of this study are expected to provide information for farmers in Kuanoel Village in anticipating pest attacks and to serve as a reference for future researchers.
