Background: Hypertension is a major non-communicable disease among older adults and is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular complications if not properly managed. Foot reflexology is one of the complementary non-pharmacological therapies that may help reduce blood pressure. Objective: To describe the implementation of foot reflexology therapy in reducing blood pressure among older adults with hypertension in Guwosari Hamlet, RT 02/RW 27, Jebres Village, Surakarta. Methods: This study employed a descriptive design with a case study approach involving two older adults diagnosed with hypertension. The intervention consisted of a 15-minute foot reflexology massage administered once daily for three consecutive days. Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention using a sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope. Foot reflexology aims to improve blood circulation through stimulation of reflex points on the soles of the feet, thereby helping reduce blood pressure. Results: Both participants experienced decreased blood pressure after the intervention. The first participant's blood pressure decreased from stage 1 hypertension to prehypertension, while the second participant's blood pressure decreased from stage 1 hypertension to the normal category. Greater improvement was observed in the participant who practiced a healthy lifestyle. Conclusion: Foot reflexology massage has the potential to serve as an effective complementary non-pharmacological therapy for reducing blood pressure in older adults with hypertension and can be applied independently within the community.
