HUBUNGAN ANTARA KUNJUNGAN KE PERPUSTAKAAN DAN MINAT BACA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BELAJAR SISWA DI SMP NEGERI 5 TONDANO

This research aims to: (1) evaluate the relationship between visits to the library and students' learning abilities at SMP Negeri 5 Tondano; (2) identify the correlation between reading interest and students' learning abilities at SMP Negeri 5 Tondano; (3) assess the relationship between visits to the library and interest in reading on students' learning abilities at SMP Negeri 5 Tondano. This research is correlational with the student population of SMP Negeri 5 Tondano which consists of 3 classes, with a total of 75 students and a sample of 69 students. Prerequisite test analysis includes normality tests and linearity tests. Data analysis involves the use of simple correlation analysis and multiple correlation. The research results show that: (1) there is a significant relationship between visits to the library and students' learning abilities, amounting to 0.49 or 49%; (2) there is a significant relationship between reading interest and students' learning ability, amounting to 0.53 or 53%; (3) there is a significant correlation between visits to the library and interest in reading on students' learning abilities, reaching 0.77 or 77%.
