HUBUNGAN PENDIDIKAN KEWARGANEGARAAN TERHADAP KARAKTER SISWA DI ERA DIGITAL

Abstrak

Perkembangan teknologi digital pada era modern membawa pengaruh besar terhadap proses pendidikan dan pembentukan karakter peserta didik, khususnya Generasi Z yang tumbuh sebagai “digital native”. Meskipun mahir menggunakan teknologi, mereka juga rentan terhadap dampak negatif seperti kecanduan gawai, menurunnya interaksi sosial, serta paparan konten yang tidak sesuai. Dalam konteks ini, Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan (PKn) berperan strategis dalam menanamkan nilai moral, etika, tanggung jawab, nasionalisme, dan toleransi sebagai pondasi karakter di era digital dan Society 5.0. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan untuk mengkaji peran PKn, guru, keluarga, dan masyarakat dalam pembentukan karakter siswa. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi antara sekolah dan lingkungan sosial sangat penting agar peserta didik mampu memanfaatkan teknologi secara bijak. Teknologi digital memiliki dampak positif seperti kemudahan akses informasi, namun juga membawa risiko seperti cybercrime dan penyebaran informasi negatif. Dengan demikian, PKn memiliki fungsi vital dalam membentuk karakter generasi muda agar mampu menghadapi tantangan digital secara bertanggung jawab

The development of digital technology in the modern era has had a significant impact on the educational process and character development of students, especially Generation Z, who are growing up as "digital natives." Although adept at using technology, they are also vulnerable to negative impacts such as gadget addiction, decreased social interaction, and exposure to inappropriate content. In this context, Civics Education (PKn) plays a strategic role in instilling moral values, ethics, responsibility, nationalism, and tolerance as the foundation of character in the digital era and Society 5.0. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a library approach to examine the role of Civics, teachers, families, and the community in shaping students' character. The results indicate that collaboration between schools and the social environment is crucial for students to utilize technology wisely. While digital technology has positive impacts, such as easier access to information, it also carries risks such as cybercrime and the spread of negative information. Therefore, Civics plays a vital role in shaping the character of the younger generation, enabling them to responsibly face digital challenges.
