Islamic educational institutions hold an essential role in shaping students’ intellectual, moral, and spiritual qualities. However, in carrying out this mission, these institutions face various internal and external risks, including academic, financial, human resources, infrastructure, and reputational risks that may affect public trust and institutional sustainability. This study aims to elaborate on the importance of risk management in maintaining continuity and improving the quality of Islamic educational institutions. The research employs a library research approach by reviewing relevant books, academic journal articles, policy regulations, and previous studies. The findings indicate that implementing comprehensive risk management through systematic processes such as risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and continuous monitoring is crucial to minimizing potential negative impacts and optimizing institutional performance. Additionally, the effectiveness of risk management is strongly influenced by leadership capacity, professional competence of human resources, financial transparency, and stakeholder involvement. The integration of Islamic ethical values such as trustworthiness, justice, and accountability also plays a central role in guiding decision-making. Thus, risk management not only serves as a preventive framework but also contributes to strengthening institutional governance, enhancing public confidence, and ensuring long-term sustainability and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions.
