Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kebutuhan penilaian afektif dan spiritual di SMP Islam Excellent Plus Bukittinggi sebagai sekolah Islam yang menekankan pembinaan karakter, akhlak, dan kecerdasan spiritual selain pencapaian akademik. Penelitian dilakukan karena pelaksanaan penilaian afektif dan spiritual di sekolah masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, seperti belum tersedianya instrumen yang baku, subjektivitas guru, keterbatasan waktu observasi, serta inkonsistensi perilaku siswa dalam keseharian. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi non-partisipan, dan dokumentasi terhadap kepala sekolah, guru PAI, guru mata pelajaran umum, serta wali kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru telah berupaya melakukan penilaian sikap dan spiritual melalui observasi, jurnal sikap, catatan anekdot, serta rubrik sederhana, namun pelaksanaannya masih belum terstruktur, belum terstandar, dan belum sepenuhnya objektif. Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan belum memiliki indikator yang rinci dan belum mampu memotret perkembangan karakter siswa secara konsisten. Penelitian ini menegaskan perlunya sistem penilaian afektif dan spiritual yang komprehensif, operasional, dan terintegrasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran serta pembiasaan ibadah di sekolah. Penyusunan instrumen yang jelas, penggunaan format digital, serta pelibatan guru lintas mata pelajaran dan orang tua menjadi langkah strategis untuk meningkatkan objektivitas dan keberlanjutan penilaian. Dengan demikian, penilaian afektif dan spiritual yang terstruktur akan mendukung sekolah dalam mewujudkan tujuan pendidikan Islam, yaitu menghasilkan peserta didik yang unggul secara akademik, berakhlak mulia, disiplin, bertanggung jawab, dan memiliki kecerdasan spiritual yang tinggi.

This study aims to analyze the needs for affective and spiritual assessment at SMP Islam Excellent Plus Bukittinggi, an Islamic secondary school that emphasizes character building, morality, and spiritual intelligence alongside academic achievement. The research was conducted due to several challenges encountered in implementing affective and spiritual assessments, including the absence of standardized instruments, teacher subjectivity, limited observation time, and inconsistencies in students’ daily behavior. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, non-participant observations, and documentation involving the school principal, Islamic Education teachers, general subject teachers, and homeroom teachers. The findings indicate that teachers have attempted to assess students’ attitudes and spirituality through observations, attitude journals, anecdotal records, and simple rubrics; however, the implementation remains unstructured, unstandardized, and not entirely objective. The existing assessment instruments lack detailed indicators and are not yet capable of consistently capturing the development of students’ character. The study highlights the need for a comprehensive, operational, and integrated affective and spiritual assessment system within both instructional activities and school religious routines. Developing clear instruments, utilizing digital formats, and involving teachers across subjects as well as parents are strategic steps to enhance the objectivity and sustainability of the assessments. Consequently, a well-structured affective and spiritual assessment system will support the school in achieving the goals of Islamic education, namely producing students who excel academically, possess noble character, demonstrate discipline and responsibility, and exhibit strong spiritual intelligence.
