ANALISIS KESULITAN SISWA DALAM MEMAHAMI SIKAP APRESIATIF TERHADAP SENI MUSIK DAN STUDENTS’ DIFFICULTIES IN UNDERSTANDING APPRECIATIVE ATTITUDES TOWARD VARIOUS MUSICAL ARTS

This study analyzes the difficulties faced by twelfth-grade students in developing an appreciative attitude toward musical art at SMA St. Arnoldus Janssen Kupang. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model. The findings indicate that students struggle due to limited understanding of basic musical concepts, habits of instant music consumption, low interest in non-popular genres, and learning approaches that remain predominantly theoretical. Digital-era listening patterns also weaken students’ ability to engage in deep appreciation. The study highlights the need for guided listening activities, interpretive discussions, and systematic use of audio media to improve aesthetic reflection. Penelitian ini menganalisis kesulitan siswa kelas XII dalam mengembangkan sikap apresiatif terhadap seni musik di SMA St. Arnoldus Janssen Kupang. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan siswa dipengaruhi oleh lemahnya konsep musik, pola konsumsi musik instan, rendahnya minat terhadap musik non-populer, serta pembelajaran yang dominan teoritis. Penelitian menegaskan pentingnya strategi pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan interaktif untuk memperkuat apresiasi estetis siswa.
