THE ROLE OF PHONOLOGICAL AWARENESS IN LANGUAGE ACQUISITION: A LIBRARY RESEARCH STUDY

This article explores the critical role of phonological awareness in the process of language acquisition. By
conducting an extensive review of existing literature and theoretical frameworks, the study aims to synthesize current
knowledge on how phonological awareness contributes to linguistic development in both first and second language learners.
The library research method was employed to gather data from various academic sources, including peer-reviewed
journals, books, and conference proceedings. The findings underscore the importance of phonological skills in the early
stages of language learning and highlight effective pedagogical strategies for enhancing phonological awareness in
educational settings. The study concludes with recommendations for future research and practical applications in language
education.
