PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DALAM KESIAPSIAGAAN TSUNAMI MELALUI PELATIHAN BERBASIS KOMUNITAS DI DESA PASEBAN KECAMATAN KENCONG KABUPATEN JEMBER

Latar Belakang: Desa Paseban, Kecamatan Kencong, Kabupaten Jember merupakan wilayah pesisir yang berisiko tinggi terhadap bencana tsunami sehingga diperlukan peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat dalam menghadapi bencana. Tujuan: Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat terkait kesiapsiagaan bencana tsunami melalui pelatihan berbasis komunitas. Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan pada 22 Mei 2026 di Balai Desa Paseban dengan melibatkan 20 peserta yang terdiri dari perangkat desa, anggota Desa Tangguh Bencana (Destana), dan kader kesehatan. Pelatihan dilakukan melalui ceramah, diskusi, demonstrasi, simulasi, dan praktik langsung. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil: Sebelum pelatihan, sebagian besar peserta berada pada kategori pengetahuan cukup (50%), sedangkan setelah pelatihan mayoritas peserta berada pada kategori baik (90%) dan tidak ada lagi peserta dalam kategori kurang. Kesimpulan: Pelatihan kesiapsiagaan bencana tsunami berbasis komunitas efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat Desa Paseban dalam menghadapi ancaman tsunami.
Background: Paseban Village, Kencong District, Jember Regency, is a coastal area with a high risk of tsunami disasters, requiring increased community capacity in disaster preparedness. Objective: To improve community knowledge and skills related to tsunami disaster preparedness through community-based training. Methods: This community service program was conducted on May 22, 2026, at Paseban Village Hall and involved 20 participants consisting of village officials, members of the Disaster Resilient Village Team (Destana), and health cadres. The training was delivered through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, simulations, and hands-on practice. Evaluation was carried out using pre-tests and post-tests, and the data were analyzed descriptively. Results: Before the training, most participants had a moderate level of knowledge (50%). After the training, the majority of participants were in the good knowledge category (90%), and no participants remained in the poor category. Conclusion: Community-based tsunami disaster preparedness training was effective in improving the knowledge and skills of the people of Paseban Village in facing tsunami threats.
