INTERNALISASI NILAI-NILAI ISLAM SEBAGAI BASIS PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER MASYARAKAT MELAYU: ANALISIS HISTORIS DAN SOSIAL BUDAYA

Abstrak

Masyarakat Melayu memiliki identitas budaya yang erat kaitannya dengan nilai-nilai Islam sebagai landasan dalam membentuk karakter individu maupun kehidupan sosial. Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, arus globalisasi, modernisasi, dan transformasi sosial turut memengaruhi proses internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam sehingga diperlukan kajian yang mampu menjelaskan relevansi nilai tersebut dalam mempertahankan karakter masyarakat Melayu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam sebagai basis pembentukan karakter masyarakat Melayu melalui perspektif historis dan sosial budaya. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan library research. Data diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi terhadap berbagai sumber ilmiah berupa buku, artikel jurnal, hasil penelitian, dan dokumen sejarah yang relevan dengan tema penelitian. Data dianalisis menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña yang meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam berlangsung melalui akulturasi antara ajaran Islam dengan tradisi Melayu tanpa menghilangkan identitas budaya lokal. Nilai-nilai seperti religiusitas, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, musyawarah, kesantunan, dan kepedulian sosial menjadi fondasi utama dalam pembentukan karakter masyarakat Melayu yang tercermin dalam sistem adat, pendidikan keluarga, lembaga keagamaan, serta kehidupan bermasyarakat. Di sisi lain, perkembangan teknologi informasi, globalisasi budaya, dan perubahan pola interaksi sosial menghadirkan tantangan baru terhadap keberlangsungan internalisasi nilai-nilai tersebut. Oleh karena itu, penguatan pendidikan Islam, revitalisasi kearifan lokal, serta kolaborasi antara keluarga, lembaga pendidikan, dan masyarakat menjadi strategi penting dalam menjaga keberlanjutan karakter masyarakat Melayu yang berlandaskan nilai-nilai Islam.

The Malay community has a cultural identity that is closely related to Islamic values as the basis for shaping individual character and social life. Along with the times, the flow of globalization, modernization, and social transformation also influenced the process of internalizing Islamic values, so a study was needed that was able to explain the relevance of these values in maintaining the character of the Malay community. This research aims to analyze the internalization of Islamic values as the basis for the formation of the character of the Malay society through historical and socio-cultural perspectives. The research uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data was obtained through documentation studies of various scientific sources in the form of books, journal articles, research results, and historical documents relevant to the research theme. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña interactive analysis model which included data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study show that the process of internalizing Islamic values takes place through acculturation between Islamic teachings and Malay traditions without eliminating local cultural identity. Values such as religiosity, honesty, responsibility, deliberation, politeness, and social concern are the main foundations in the formation of the character of the Malay society which is reflected in the customary system, family education, religious institutions, and community life. On the other hand, the development of information technology, cultural globalization, and changes in social interaction patterns present new challenges to the sustainability of the internalization of these values. Therefore, strengthening Islamic education, revitalizing local wisdom, and collaboration between families, educational institutions, and the community are important strategies in maintaining the sustainability of the character of Malay society based on Islamic values.
