PENERAPAN JARINGAN TERPUSAT DAN DISTRIBUSI SUMBER DATA DI PERPUSTAKAAN UNIVERSITAS INDO GLOBAL MANDIRI (UIGM) PALEMBANG

Abstrak

Artikel ini membahas tentang penerapan jaringan komputer pada distribusi sumber data di Perpustakaan Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah agar penulis dapat memahami serta mengetahui mengenai jaringan komputer pada distribusi sumber data yang di terapkan di Perpustakaan Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang serta komponen jaringan komputer yang digunakan di perpustakaan tersebut. Artikel ini ditulis dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi langsung di lapangan, wawancara bersama informan yang merupakan pustakawan tersebut Perpustakaan Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Perpustakaan Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang telah menerapkan jaringan komputerpada distribusi sumber data berbasis jaringan terpusat berupa internet yang berasal dari universitas UIGM itu sendiri, Namun disamping itu, masih terdapat kendala dalam pelaksanaan yaitu keterbatasan tenaga ahli IT.

This article discusses the application of computer networks to the distribution of data sources in the Indo Global Mandiri ( UIGM) Palembang University library. The purpose of writing this article is so that the author can understand and know about computer networks in the distribution of data sources that are implemented in the Indo Global Mandiri ( UIGM) Palembang University library as well as the computer network components used in the library. This article was written using a qualitative approach method with data collection techniques through direct observation in the field, interviews with informants who are librarians at the Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang University library, and documentation. The results of this research can be concluded that the Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) Palembang University library has implemented a computer network for distribution of data sources based on a centralized network in the form UIGM University it self, but in addition, there are still obstacles in implementation, namely limited expert staff it.
