Imbalance between workload and teachers’ abilities can lead to work-related stress, which is also influenced by psychological factors within the work environment. Lavender aromatherapy is known to provide relaxation effects by stimulating the limbic system involved in emotional regulation. This study aimed to examine the effect of lavender aromatherapy on teachers’ work stress at Prama Artha Jaya Educational Foundation, Simalungun Regency. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach was employed. The sample consisted of 41 teachers selected using total sampling. Work stress levels were measured using the Teacher Stress Inventory (TSI) questionnaire before and after the administration of lavender aromatherapy through a reed diffuser method. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed a significant difference in work stress levels before and after the intervention, with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). These findings indicate that lavender aromatherapy is effective in reducing teachers’ work stress and can be considered a non-pharmacological method to promote a healthier and more supportive work environment.
