PROGRAM ADIWIYATA DAN SEKOLAH RAMAH ANAK DALAM MEWUJUDKAN PENDIDIKAN BERKELANJUTAN DI MI/SD

Abstrak

Sustainable education aims to foster students' awareness of environmental, social, and cultural issues, equipping them to navigate global challenges. In Indonesia, this approach is institutionalized through two key initiatives: the Adiwiyata Program (eco-schools) and Child-Friendly Schools (Sekolah Ramah Anak/SRA). This study analyzes how both programs contribute to realizing sustainable education in Islamic elementary schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah/MI) and primary schools (Sekolah Dasar/SD). Employing a qualitative literature review method (library research), data were gathered from relevant government regulations, national scientific journals, and books. The findings indicate that the Adiwiyata Program successfully promotes an environmentally conscious culture through school policies, eco-based curricula, participatory activities, and eco-friendly facility management. Concurrently, Child-Friendly Schools foster safe, comfortable, inclusive, and violence-free learning environments that respect children's rights. The integration of these two programs establishes an educational ecosystem that supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 regarding quality education. Ultimately, the successful implementation of both programs hinges on active synergy among schools, teachers, parents, communities, and the government.
