Abstrak

The act of reading allows children to enhance their knowledge while also serving as a source of enjoyment and amusement, making it important to encourage their own interest in this activity. The purpose of this study is to increase reading interest among children between the ages of 5 to 12 who frequently visit the RPTRA X through both active and passive interventions. This study uses an approach that includes three dimensions: inner urges, social motivation, and emotional response. The results showed an increase in the children’s reading interest after a series of interventions carried out throughout the third to sixth weeks. The study highlights how critical it is to use organized interventions to foster the children's reading interest, which is essential to their future academic and personal growth.
