PENGUATAN PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA PADA PROGRAM ASISTENSI MENGAJAR DI SD HANG TUAH 10 SEDATI

Strengthening mathematics learning at the elementary level is essential to improve students’ numeracy and learning quality. This study examines the role of the Teaching Assistance Program in supporting mathematics instruction at SD Hang Tuah 10 Sedati. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, supported by descriptive statistical analysis of students’ mid-semester mathematics scores. Data were collected through classroom observations, documentation, interviews with teachers, and analysis of assessment records. The findings show that teaching assistance contributes meaningfully to increasing student engagement, classroom interaction, and understanding of mathematical concepts through interactive strategies such as quizzes, reward-based questioning, and differentiated instruction. Statistical results reveal variations in numeracy achievement among classes 5A, 5B, and 5C, influenced by class characteristics and curricular differences. The study concludes that the Teaching Assistance Program plays a strategic role in enhancing mathematics learning by enriching teaching methods and providing evidence-based insights for evaluation. It is recommended that collaboration between universities and schools be strengthened to sustain and expand the benefits of teaching assistance programs.
