MEMPERKUAT HARMONI DALAM KEBERAGAMAN: PRAKTIK PENDIDIKAN MULTIKULTURAL DI SLB NEGERI 1 LOMBOK BARAT

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan praktik pendidikan multikultural di SLBN 1 Lombok Barat sebagai sekolah inklusif dengan siswa berkebutuhan khusus, seperti tunarungu, tunagrahita, dan tunadaksa. Pendidikan multikultural penting karena keberagaman muncul tidak hanya dalam latar sosial-budaya, tetapi juga karakteristik dan kemampuan peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara semi‐terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Informan dipilih melalui purposive sampling, dengan guru tunarungu sebagai sumber utama. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, dengan triangulasi dan member check untuk menjaga keabsahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan multikultural diterapkan melalui pembiasaan toleransi, metode pembelajaran adaptif, serta kegiatan berbasis kolaborasi dan budaya lokal. Faktor pendukungnya meliputi peran guru, dukungan sekolah, dan keterlibatan orang tua, sedangkan hambatannya adalah perbedaan kemampuan siswa dan keterbatasan waktu bimbingan. Secara keseluruhan, pendidikan multikultural di SLBN 1 Lombok Barat membangun harmoni, empati, dan sikap saling menghargai.
This study aims to describe multicultural education practices at SLBN 1 West Lombok as an inclusive school with students with special needs, such as deaf, mentally disabled, and physically disabled students. Multicultural education is important because diversity arises not only in socio-cultural backgrounds but also in the characteristics and abilities of students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation techniques. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, with deaf teachers as the main source. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, with triangulation and member checks to maintain validity. The results of the study show that multicultural education is implemented through the cultivation of tolerance, adaptive learning methods, and activities based on collaboration and local culture. Supporting factors include the role of teachers, school support, and parental involvement, while obstacles include differences in student abilities and limited guidance time. Overall, multicultural education at SLBN 1 West Lombok fosters harmony, empathy, and mutual respect.
