PENERAPAN METODE MEMBACA SQRQCQ DENGAN TEKS ARITMATIKA DI TINGKAT SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS

Kemampuan memahami teks aritmatika merupakan keterampilan penting dalam pembelajaran matematika di tingkat SMA. Namun, banyak peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam menafsirkan soal berbentuk cerita karena rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode membaca SQRQCQ (Survey, Question, Read, Question, Compute, Question) sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap teks aritmatika. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek peneliti siswa SMA. Data diperoleh melalui observasi dan dokumentasi selama kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode SQRQCQ mampu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami soal cerita matematika. Siswa menjadi lebih aktif dalam membaca, bertanya, serta memeriksa kembali hasil pemecahan masalah. Dengan demikian, metode SQRQCQ efektif digunakan sebagai strategi pembelajaran inovatif yang mengintegrasikan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi.
The ability to understand arithmetic texts is an important skill in high school mathematics learning. However, many students have difficulty interpreting story-based problems due to low reading comprehension skills. This study aims to describe the application of the SQRQCQ reading method (Survey, Question, Read, Question, Compute, Question) as an effort to improve students' understanding of arithmetic texts. The method used is qualitative descriptive, with high school students as the research subjects. Data were obtained through observation and documentation during the learning activities. The results of the study indicate that the application of the SQRQCQ method can improve students' ability to understand mathematical story problems. Students become more active in reading, questioning, and checking the results of problem-solving. Thus, the SQRQCQ method is effective as an innovative learning strategy that integrates literacy and numeracy skills.
