PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN COMPUTATIONAL THINKING MELALUI TANTANGAN BEBRAS DI LINGKUNGAN SMP

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan serta mengimplementasikan pembelajaran computational thinking melalui Tantangan Bebras di lingkungan Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Kegiatan dilakukan melalui kerja sama dengan sekolah mitra yang menghadapi keterbatasan media pembelajaran, rendahnya paparan siswa terhadap konsep informatika, serta belum adanya pelatihan sistematis mengenai computational thinking. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi pelatihan guru, pendampingan siswa, serta sesi latihan berbasis soal Bebras. Metode yang digunakan adalah workshop, simulasi, serta pemecahan masalah terarah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa serta meningkatnya pemahaman guru terhadap materi Bebras. Nilai pre-test dan post-test memperlihatkan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran siswa. Guru juga melaporkan bahwa soal Bebras mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan mudah diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran. Program ini berhasil menyediakan alternatif sumber belajar dan menguatkan budaya computational thinking di sekolah mitra.
This community service program aimed to introduce and implement computational thinking learning through the Bebras Challenge for junior high school students. The program was conducted in collaboration with partner schools that faced limited learning media, low student exposure to informatics concepts, and the absence of systematic computational thinking training. The activities included training teachers, mentoring students, and conducting Bebras-based practice sessions. The methods used were workshops, simulations, and guided problem-solving. The results showed an improvement in students’ problem-solving abilities and increased teacher understanding of Bebras materials. Pre-test and post-test scores indicated positive changes in students’ reasoning skills. Teachers also reported that Bebras tasks motivated students and could be integrated into classroom learning. The program successfully provided alternative learning resources and strengthened computational thinking culture in the partner school.
