MEMBACA MODEL DEMOKRASI DI INDONESIA SAAT INI MELALUI KONSEP KONTRAK SOSIAL JJ ROUSSEAU

Abstrak

Demokrasi adalah peluang bagi setiap orang untuk mengakses kebebasan demi tercapainya segala kebutuhan. Dalam dunia modern seperti sekarang ini, masalah demokrasi selalu menjadi persoalan yang marak terjadi dalam hidup manusia. Masalah ini sulit ditumpas karena keserakahan yang tertanam dalam diri manusia terutama para elite politik. Hal ini membutuhkan refleksi yang mendalam dari setiap anggota komunitas atau negara agar membuka peluang bagi kemajuan suatu negara. Dalam tulisan ini, metode yang dilakukan penulis ialah melakukan kajian pustaka. Data-data yang dipakai oleh penulis adalah data-data ilmiah dari berbagai sumber. Penelitian yang dilakukan penulis melewati lima tahap, yaitu pemilihan topik, pengumpulan sumber-sumber, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan penulisan. Berbicara tentang demokrasi berarti berbicara juga soal Kontrak Sosial yang dicetuskan Rousseau. Kontrak Sosial sebagai suatu perjanjian antara pemimpin maupun antara sesama individu dalam negara. Perjanjian ini berupa aturan atau hukum yang ditetapkan dalam suatu negara. Pemerintah tidak bisa mengambil keputusan sepihak atau menciptakan undang-undang yang merugikan rakyat. Namun yang terjadi adalah Kontrak Sosial yang dikonsepkan oleh Rousseau tidak begitu optimal diterapkan di Indonesia. Kini negara Indonesia terbelenggu oleh kepentingan sepihak. Hak-hak rakyat kini dibatasi. Konsep hidup bersama hanya sebuah slogan yang memberi jalan bagi para koruptor untuk beraksi.  Demokrasi seharusnya sebagai sistem pemerintahan yang menganut prinsip kebebasan, keadilan, dan partisipasi rakyat. Selain itu, Demokrasi harus mampu membawa perubahan dari segi kehidupann sosial, ekonomi, politik dan lain sebagaianya. Sistem demokrasi yang efektif seharusnya juga mendorong inklusivitas dan partisipasi aktif dari berbagai kelompok masyarakat, termasuk minoritas dan kelompok yang terpinggirkan.

Democracy is an opportunity for everyone to access freedom to achieve their needs. In today's modern world, the issue of democracy has always been a rampant problem in human life. This problem is difficult to eradicate because of the greed that is embedded in humans, especially the political elites. This requires deep reflection from every member of a community or country in order to open up opportunities for the progress of a country. In this paper, the method used by the author is to conduct a literature review. The data used by the author is scientific data from various sources. The research conducted by the author goes through five stages, namely topic selection, collection of sources, verification, interpretation, and writing. Talking about democracy means also talking about the Social Contract initiated by Rousseau. Social Contract as an agreement between leaders and between individuals in the state. This agreement is in the form of rules or laws established in a country. The government cannot make unilateral decisions or create laws that harm the people. But what happened was that the Social Contract conceptualized by Rousseau was not optimally applied in Indonesia. Now the Indonesian state is shackled by unilateral interests. The rights of the people are now restricted. The concept of living together is just a slogan that gives way for corruptors to act.  Democracy should be a sistem of government that adheres to the principles of freedom, justice and popular participation. In addition, democracy should be able to bring changes in terms of social, economic, political and other aspects of life. An effective democratic sistem should also encourage inclusiveness and active participation from various groups in society, including minorities and marginalized groups.
