Perkembangan Artificial Intelligence (AI) telah memasuki ranah pendidikan, termasuk Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), yang kini menghadapi tantangan baru dalam menyesuaikan pendekatan pedagogi dengan teknologi berbasis kecerdasan buatan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran AI dalam pendidikan PAI dari perspektif pedagogi serta menelaah etika, tantangan, dan peluang penggunaan AI generatif berbasis teks dan gambar dalam proses pembelajaran PAI. Melalui kajian literatur terbaru, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa AI berpotensi memperkaya praktik pembelajaran berbasis nilai, meningkatkan personalisasi pendidikan, dan memperluas akses terhadap sumber belajar digital islami. Namun, penggunaan AI juga menimbulkan persoalan etis, seperti keaslian materi, bias algoritmik, dan potensi penyimpangan nilai religius. Pendekatan pedagogi yang kritis, humanistik, dan berlandaskan nilai-nilai Islam perlu dikembangkan agar AI dapat digunakan secara bertanggung jawab dalam pendidikan PAI.
The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has penetrated the field of education, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which now faces the challenge of adapting pedagogical approaches to AI-based technologies. This article aims to analyze the role of AI in PAI education from a pedagogical perspective and to examine the ethics, challenges, and opportunities of using generative AI in text and image-based learning. Based on recent literature reviews, this study finds that AI has the potential to enrich value-based learning practices, enhance personalization in education, and expand access to digital Islamic learning resources. However, its use also raises ethical issues such as content authenticity, algorithmic bias, and the risk of religious value distortion. Therefore, a critical, humanistic, and Islamic value-oriented pedagogical approach must be developed to ensure the responsible use of AI in Islamic education.
