This study aimed to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by TikTok videos on students’ short story writing skills in grade XI of SMA Swasta PAB 8 Saentis. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The research subjects consisted of two groups: an experimental class taught using the Problem Based Learning model assisted by TikTok videos and a control class taught using conventional learning methods. Data were collected through a short story writing test and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the experimental class achieved an average score of 89.84, categorized as very good, while the control class obtained an average score of 64.24, categorized as fairly good. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by TikTok videos has a positive and significant effect on students’ short story writing skills, particularly in terms of story elements, text structure, and language use. Therefore, this learning model is effective as an alternative approach for teaching short story writing at the senior high school level.
