Abstrak

Kode etik guru merupakan pedoman moral dan profesional yang berfungsi mengarahkan perilaku guru dalam melaksanakan tugas pendidikan, baik di lingkungan sekolah maupun dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Keberadaan kode etik sangat penting untuk menjaga martabat profesi guru serta menjamin terlaksananya proses pendidikan yang berlandaskan nilai-nilai etika, tanggung jawab, dan keadilan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep kode etik guru, prinsip-prinsip yang terkandung di dalamnya, serta peran kode etik dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, melalui studi kepustakaan terhadap buku, peraturan perundang-undangan, dan artikel ilmiah yang relevan dengan kode etik profesi guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kode etik guru tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai aturan perilaku, tetapi juga sebagai instrumen pengendalian diri dan pedoman dalam mengambil keputusan profesional. Penerapan kode etik secara konsisten mampu membangun hubungan yang harmonis antara guru, peserta didik, sesama tenaga pendidik, serta masyarakat. Selain itu, kode etik juga berperan dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan publik terhadap profesi guru. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pemahaman dan pengamalan kode etik guru secara berkelanjutan merupakan faktor penting dalam mewujudkan pendidikan yang bermutu dan berkarakter.

The teacher’s code of ethics is a moral and professional guideline that directs teachers’ behavior in carrying out educational duties, both within schools and in social life. The existence of a code of ethics is essential to maintain the dignity of the teaching profession and to ensure that educational processes are conducted based on ethical values, responsibility, and fairness. This study aims to describe the concept of the teacher’s code of ethics, the principles contained within it, and its role in improving teacher professionalism. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach through a literature review of books, regulations, and scientific articles relevant to the teacher’s professional code of ethics. The results show that the teacher’s code of ethics functions not only as a set of behavioral rules but also as a means of self-control and guidance in making professional decisions. Consistent implementation of the code of ethics can foster harmonious relationships between teachers, students, fellow educators, and the community. In addition, it plays an important role in increasing public trust in the teaching profession. This study concludes that continuous understanding and application of the teacher’s code of ethics are crucial in realizing quality and character-based education.
