PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS BERITA PADA SISWA KELAS VII MTsN 2 MEDAN

This study aims to determine the effect of using interactive learning media on students’ ability to write news texts in Grade VII at MTsN 2 Medan. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method. The research design was a two-group posttest-only control design. The population consisted of 411 students, with a sample of 62 students, comprising 31 students in the control class and 31 students in the experimental class. The sample was selected using a random sampling technique. The research instrument was a news text writing test assessed based on the completeness of news content (including the 5W+1H elements), coherence of presentation, sentence construction, vocabulary use, attractiveness of the title, and accuracy of spelling and punctuation.The results showed that the average score of students’ ability to write news texts without the use of interactive learning media was 62.45, which was categorized as fair. Meanwhile, after the implementation of interactive learning media, the average score increased to 84.06, which was categorized as good. The hypothesis testing using the t-test revealed that the value of t calculated (19.82) was greater than t table (2.00) at a significance level of 0.05. Therefore, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This indicates that the use of interactive learning media has a significant effect on students’ ability to write news texts in Grade VII at MTsN 2 Medan.
