PROSPEKTIF KEBIJAKAN PENDIDIKAN PROFESI GURU (PPG) BERBASIS PENGUATAN KOMPETENSI DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-MUJTAMA’ PAMEKASAN

This study aims to analyze the prospects of the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) policy based on competency strengthening at Al-Mujtama' Islamic Boarding School, Pamekasan. The Teacher Professional Education Program is one of the Indonesian government's strategic policies to improve teacher professionalism by strengthening pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis applied the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Teacher Professional Education policy at Al-Mujtama' Islamic Boarding School has positive prospects for improving teacher competencies. The program contributes to enhancing teachers' abilities in designing learning activities, developing technology-based learning media, implementing comprehensive assessments, and strengthening social as well as personal competencies. The implementation of this policy is supported by the commitment of the boarding school leadership, teachers' motivation, and the advancement of information technology. However, several challenges remain, including limited participant quotas, financial constraints, teachers' workload, and unequal digital literacy skills. Therefore, stronger collaboration among the government, higher education institutions providing the Teacher Professional Education Program, and Islamic boarding schools is essential to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of the policy in improving educational quality.
