Education is the cornerstone of a nation's development, with student motivation being a key factor
in the learning process. This study examines various concepts, findings, and perspectives on student
motivation in Indonesia through a critical analysis of literature published over the past two decades.
The research employs critical analysis using a descriptive approach to identify trends and changes
in educators' perceptions of student motivation. The findings indicate that high learning motivation
positively contributes to student engagement in learning and academic achievement. The ProjectBased Learning (PjBL) model has proven effective in enhancing student learning motivation through
active engagement, collaboration, and practical and cognitive skills development. The study
concludes that educators must continue to develop teaching strategies that support student
motivation to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
