Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan ekstrakurikuler petanque dalam membangun dimensi mandiri dan gotong royong pada peserta didik di SD No. 1 Sobangan, Mengwi, Badung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian meliputi kepala sekolah, pelatih, guru, dan peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara terstruktur, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan, sedangkan keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrakurikuler petanque dilaksanakan secara sistematis melalui tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang terintegrasi dengan pembinaan karakter. Kegiatan ini mampu menumbuhkan kemandirian peserta didik melalui pengambilan keputusan, tanggung jawab, dan kepercayaan diri, serta menguatkan nilai gotong royong melalui kerja sama tim, komunikasi, dan sikap saling mendukung. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi perbedaan kesiapan siswa, kurangnya pemahaman awal terhadap tujuan kegiatan, serta keterbatasan fasilitas. Kendala tersebut diatasi melalui pengelompokan siswa berdasarkan kesiapan, pengarahan intensif mengenai tujuan ekstrakurikuler, serta kerja sama dengan pihak desa dalam pemanfaatan sarana latihan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ekstrakurikuler petanque berkontribusi positif sebagai wahana penguatan karakter mandiri dan gotong royong serta mendukung implementasi Profil Pelajar Pancasila di sekolah dasar.

This study aims to describe the implementation of petanque extracurricular activities in developing the dimensions of independence and mutual cooperation among students at State Elementary School No. 1 Sobangan. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving the principal, extracurricular coach, teachers, and students as participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review, and data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings show that petanque extracurricular activities were implemented systematically through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation as part of character education. These activities strengthened students’ independence through responsibility, self-confidence, and decision-making skills, and enhanced mutual cooperation through teamwork, communication, and supportive behavior. Several challenges were identified, including differences in students’ physical and mental readiness, limited initial understanding of the purpose of the activities, and inadequate facilities. These challenges were addressed by grouping students based on their readiness levels, providing intensive guidance on the objectives of the activities, and collaborating with the local community to use more adequate training facilities. The study concludes that petanque extracurricular activities contribute positively to the development of independence and mutual cooperation, supporting the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile at the elementary school level.
