PENGARUH LITERASI KEUANGAN DAN GAYA HIDUP TERHADAP PERILAKU KONSUMTIF MAHASISWA PENGGUNA PAYLATER

Perkembangan teknologi keuangan digital, khususnya layanan buy now pay later (paylater), memberikan kemudahan transaksi bagi mahasiswa, namun juga berpotensi mendorong perilaku konsumtif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh literasi keuangan dan gaya hidup terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa pengguna paylater di Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Bumigora. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 92 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan meliputi uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, serta analisis regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi keuangan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa, yang berarti semakin baik literasi keuangan maka perilaku konsumtif cenderung menurun. Sementara itu, gaya hidup berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku konsumtif, di mana gaya hidup yang tinggi mendorong peningkatan perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa. Secara simultan, literasi keuangan dan gaya hidup berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa pengguna paylater. Penelitian ini mendukung Financial Management Behavior Theory (FMBT) yang menekankan pentingnya pengelolaan perilaku keuangan dalam membentuk keputusan finansial individu.
The development of digital financial technology, particularly buy now pay later (paylater) services, has provided transaction convenience for students but also has the potential to encourage consumptive behavior. This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy and lifestyle on the consumptive behavior of students who use paylater services at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Bumigora. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis methods include validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS software. The results indicate that financial literacy has a negative and significant effect on students’ consumptive behavior, meaning that higher financial literacy tends to reduce consumptive behavior. Meanwhile, lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior, indicating that a higher lifestyle level increases students’ consumptive tendencies. Simultaneously, financial literacy and lifestyle significantly influence the consumptive behavior of students who use paylater services. This study supports the Financial Management Behavior Theory (FMBT), which emphasizes the importance of financial behavior management in shaping individual financial decision-making.
