Abstrak

The existence of roadside activities often causes problems, where the impact will affect traffic flow. Especially during peak/busy hours, the presence of side friction/side obstacles greatly influences road capacity, this will have an impact on reducing the level of performance on that road segment. A decrease in vehicle speed due to traffic jams results in an increase in travel time compared to the expected travel time. When there is congestion in a lane, drivers experience loss of travel time. Increasing BOK (vehicle operating costs) in urban areas will result in an increase in congestion costs which are related to the value of urban community activities. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of side obstacles on road performance on road sections and compare vehicle operational costs based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI). Based on the results of the calculation analysis, the value of the degree of saturation is 0.71, where this figure is already considered solid, so the speed produced by the vehicle is classified as slow. A degree of saturation of 0.71 has a service level index of C: traffic flow conditions are still within stable limits operating speeds are starting to be limited and obstacles from other vehicles are increasing. The amount of BOK when there are no side obstacles is Rp. 90.67 per km, while if there are side obstacles, the BOK will be Rp. 103.14 per km so it can be concluded that the presence of side obstacles can increase vehicle operational costs.
