HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN SISWA TENTANG BANTUAN HIDUP DASAR DENGAN KESIAPAN MENOLONG BAGI SISWA DI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH MANADO

Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD) merupakan tindakan pertolongan pertama yang dapat menyelamatkan nyawa seseorang. Keterbatasan pengetahuan BHD di kalangan siswa menjadi perhatian serius mengingat potensi mereka sebagai first responder dalam kegawatdaruratan. Kesiapan menolong mencakup kemampuan bertindak cepat, tepat, dan efektif dalam keadaan darurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan siswa tentang BHD dengan kesiapan menolong di SMK Muhammadiyah Manado. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif korelatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel sebanyak 50 responden diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis dengan uji Chi-Square serta Fisher's Exact Test (α = 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 39 responden (78,0%) memiliki pengetahuan BHD baik dan 11 (22,0%) kurang baik. Kesiapan menolong menunjukkan 32 responden (64,0%) siap dan 18 (36,0%) tidak siap. Uji Fisher's Exact Test menghasilkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05) dengan Odds Ratio sebesar 38,750. Terdapat hubungan bermakna antara pengetahuan BHD siswa dengan kesiapan menolong. Pihak sekolah disarankan untuk mengadakan edukasi dan pelatihan BHD secara rutin guna meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kesiapan siswa dalam memberikan pertolongan pertama.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is a first aid intervention that can save lives when performed quickly and accurately. Limited knowledge of BLS among students is a serious concern, as they have the potential to act as first responders in emergencies. Readiness to help encompasses the ability to act promptly, correctly, and effectively. This study aimed to examine the relationship between students' knowledge of BLS and their readiness to help at SMK Muhammadiyah Manado. A descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was used. The sample comprised 50 students selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Chi-Square and Fisher's Exact Test (α = 0.05). Results showed that 39 respondents (78.0%) had good BLS knowledge, while 11 (22.0%) had poor knowledge. Regarding readiness, 32 (64.0%) were ready to help and 18 (36.0%) were not. Fisher's Exact Test yielded p = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with an Odds Ratio of 38.750. There is a significant relationship between students' BLS knowledge and their readiness to help. Schools are advised to implement regular BLS education and training to strengthen students' confidence and preparedness in first aid delivery.
