HUBUNGAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DENGAN KEPATUHAN TERAPIS GIGI DAN MULUT DALAM UPAYA PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH MEDIS DI POLI GIGI PUSKESMAS KABUPATEN GARUT

Abstrak

World Health Organization (WHO) memperkirakan bahwa pada tahun 2022 sekitar 16 miliar suntikan di berikan di seluruh dunia setiap tahun, jika tindakan pencegahan keselamatan tidak di ikuti dan jarum jarum suntik tidak di buang dengan benar, risiko cedera benda tajam meningkat di antara staf medis, penanganan limbah dan pemulung. Dampak dari limbah medis yang tidak dikelola dengan baik dapat menyebarkan kuman penyakit dan berkembang di lingkungan sarana kesehatan, melalui udara, air, lantai, makanan dan benda-benda peralatan medis maupun non medis. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan terapis gigi dan mulut dalam upaya pengelolaan limbah medis di Poli Gigi Puskesmas Kabupaten Garut. Metode Penelitian: menggunakan penelitian metode kuantitatif dengan metode pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purpossive sampling, didapatkan dengan jumlah sampel 35 orang. Sampel diberikan lembar kusioner pengetahuan dan lembar checklist kepatuhan oleh peneliti. Analisa data menggunakan uji spearman. Hasil Penelitian: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan terapis gigi dan mulut dalam upaya pengelolaan limbah medis di poli gigi Puskesmas Kabupaten Garut yaitu dengan nilai (p=0,001<0,05). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan tingkat pengetahuan terhadap kepatuhan terapis gigi dan mulut dalam upaya pengelolaan limbah medis di poli gigi Puskesmas Kabupaten Garut.

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that in 2022 approximately 16 billion injections are administered worldwide each year, if safety precautions are not followed and needles are not disposed of properly, the risk of sharps injuries increases among medical staff, waste handlers and scavengers. The impact of medical waste that is not managed properly can spread disease germs and develop in the health facility environment, through air, water, floors, food and medical and non-medical equipment. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the compliance of dental and oral therapists in efforts to manage medical waste at the Garut Regency Health Center Dental Polyclinic. Research Method: using quantitative research methods with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, obtained with a sample size of 35 people. The sample was given a knowledge questionnaire sheet and a compliance checklist sheet by the researcher. Data analysis used the Spearman test. Research Results: The results of the research show that there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the compliance of dental and oral therapists in efforts to manage medical waste at the dental clinic at the Garut Regency Health Center, namely with a value of (p=0.001<0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the knowledge of dental and oral therapists in efforts to manage medical waste at the Garut Regency Health Center dental clinic.
