PERAN PENERAPAN PROGRAM ADIWIYATA SEBAGAI VARIABEL INTERVENING PADA PENGARUH KINERJA SEKOLAH TERHADAP PENGEMBANGAN ADIWIYATA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kinerja sekolah terhadap pengembangan Adiwiyata dengan penerapan program Adiwiyata sebagai variabel intervening di SMP Negeri 26 Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran (mixed methods) dengan menggabungkan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui penyebaran angket berbasis Skala Likert kepada siswa, sedangkan data kualitatif dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara dengan Ketua Program Adiwiyata. Temuan dari penelitian ini secara kuantitatif adalah memperoleh hasil uji reliabilitas yang menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penelitian memiliki tingkat ketepatan yang baik dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,744. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa kinerja sekolah dan penerapan program Adiwiyata secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap pengembangan Adiwiyata. Kinerja sekolah memiliki pengaruh yang lebih dominan, namun dengan penerapan program Adiwiyata yang terbukti mampu memperkuat hubungan tersebut sebagai variabel intervening. Selain itu, hasil ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa model penelitian layak digunakan untuk memprediksi pengembangan Adiwiyata. Secara kualitatif hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan program Adiwiyata di SMP Negeri 26 Surabaya membentuk budaya peduli lingkungan melalui dua program utama yang menjadi simbol dari sekolah ini yaitu Program Pengelolahan Kompos dan Program Pengurangan Penggunaan Plastik. Meskipun masih menghadapi beberapa tantangan dalam pelaksanaan, program Adiwiyata terbukti memberikan dampak positif terhadap perilaku warga sekolah dan keberlanjutan lingkungan sekolah. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan pengembangan Adiwiyata sangat dipengaruhi oleh kinerja sekolah yang didukung oleh penerapan program Adiwiyata yang konsisten, optimal dan berkelanjutan.
This study aims to analyze the influence of school performance on the development of Adiwiyata with the implementation of the Adiwiyata program as an intervening variable at SMP Negeri 26 Surabaya. The research method used is a mixed method by combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data were obtained through the distribution of Likert-scale-based questionnaires to students, while qualitative data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews with the Head of the Adiwiyata Program. The findings of this study quantitatively obtained reliability test results which showed that the research instrument had a good level of accuracy with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.744. The results of the regression analysis showed that school performance and the implementation of the Adiwiyata program simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on the development of Adiwiyata. School performance had a more dominant influence, but the implementation of the Adiwiyata program was proven to be able to strengthen the relationship as an intervening variable. In addition, the ANOVA results showed that the research model was suitable for predicting the development of Adiwiyata. Qualitatively, the results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Adiwiyata program at SMP Negeri 26 Surabaya has fostered a culture of environmental awareness through two key programs that have become symbols of the school: the Compost Management Program and the Plastic Reduction Program. Despite facing several challenges in implementation, the Adiwiyata program has been shown to have a positive impact on the behavior of school residents and the sustainability of the school environment. This study confirms that the success of Adiwiyata development is strongly influenced by school performance, which is supported by consistent, optimal, and sustainable implementation of the Adiwiyata program.
