PENERAPAN KOMPOSISI TARI KREASI MENGGUNAKAN METODE DISCOVERY LEARNING SISWA KELAS IX SMP NCIPS KUPANG

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan komposisi tari kreasi dengan menggunakan model Discovery Learning pada siswa kelas IX SMP NCIPS Kupang serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar seni tari. Latar belakang penelitian berangkat dari kebutuhan pembelajaran seni tari yang lebih inovatif, kreatif, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sehingga mampu mengoptimalkan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus yang melibatkan 34 siswa kelas IX. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara terstruktur, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan indikator keberhasilan pembelajaran tari seperti kreativitas, keaktifan, inovasi gerak, serta pemahaman konsep komposisi tari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Discovery Learning mampu meningkatkan kemampuan eksplorasi gerak, kemampuan bekerja sama, serta pemahaman siswa terhadap unsur-unsur komposisi tari seperti gerak, pola lantai, dinamika, dan desain dramatik. Seluruh siswa mencapai nilai di atas KKM pada aspek kognitif, sementara aspek afektif dan psikomotorik menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan berupa sikap apresiatif, kreativitas, dan keterampilan gerak yang lebih baik. Pembelajaran menjadi lebih interaktif, menarik, dan bermakna karena siswa dilibatkan secara aktif dalam proses penemuan konsep melalui diskusi, demonstrasi, eksplorasi gerak, dan pementasan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Discovery Learning efektif diterapkan sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran seni tari pada tingkat SMP, khususnya untuk materi komposisi tari kreasi, serta mampu mendukung pengembangan karakter dan kreativitas siswa.

This study aims to describe the application of creative dance composition using the Discovery Learning model to ninth-grade students of SMP NCIPS Kupang and analyze its impact on improving dance learning outcomes. The background of the study stems from the need for more innovative, creative, and student-specific dance learning to optimize cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 34 ninth-grade students. Data were collected through participatory observation, structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed based on indicators of successful dance learning such as creativity, activeness, movement innovation, and understanding of dance composition concepts. The results showed that the application of the Discovery Learning model was able to improve students' movement exploration skills, collaboration skills, and understanding of dance composition elements such as movement, floor patterns, dynamics, and dramatic design. All students achieved scores above the Minimum Completion Level (KKM) in the cognitive aspect, while the affective and psychomotor aspects showed significant improvements in the form of appreciative attitudes, creativity, and better movement skills. Learning becomes more interactive, engaging, and meaningful because students are actively involved in the process of discovering concepts through discussions, demonstrations, movement exploration, and performances. This study concludes that Discovery Learning is effectively implemented as a dance learning approach at the junior high school level, particularly for creative dance composition, and is able to support the development of students' character and creativity.
