PENGARUH ADIKSI GAME ONLINE TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII DI SMP NEGERI 1 MANONJAYA

Abstrak

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang semakin pesat menyebabkan meningkatnya penggunaan game online di kalangan remaja, termasuk siswa sekolah menengah pertama. Penggunaan game online yang berlebihan berpotensi memengaruhi berbagai aspek kehidupan siswa, salah satunya motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat adiksi game online, tingkat motivasi belajar, serta pengaruh adiksi game online terhadap motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Manonjaya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian asosiatif kausal dan total sampling terhadap 304 siswa kelas VIII. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket skala Likert yang disusun berdasarkan indikator adiksi game online (Lemmens) dan motivasi belajar (Uno). Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, regresi linear sederhana, dan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adiksi game online berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Koefisien regresi sebesar 0,567 menunjukkan arah pengaruh positif, dan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,343 atau 34,3% menggambarkan besarnya kontribusi adiksi game online terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, sedangkan 65,7% sisanya dipengaruhi faktor lain.

The rapid development of digital technology has led to an increase in the use of online games among teenagers, including junior high school students. The excessive use of online games has the potential to affect various aspects of students' lives, one of which is learning motivation. This study aims to determine the level of online game addiction, the level of learning motivation, and the influence of online game addiction on the learning motivation of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Manonjaya. The study used a quantitative approach with the type of causal associative research and total sampling of 304 grade VIII students. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale questionnaire which was compiled based on indicators of online game addiction (Lemmens) and learning motivation (Uno). Data analysis was carried out through validity, reliability, normality, simple linear regression, and hypothesis tests with the help of SPSS. The results showed that online game addiction had a significant effect on students' learning motivation with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The regression coefficient of 0.567 indicates the direction of positive influence, and the determination coefficient (R²) of 0.343 or 34.3% illustrates the large contribution of online game addiction to students' learning motivation, while the remaining 65.7% is influenced by other factors.
