Abstrak

Minat baca merupakan suatu kegiatan membaca yang dilakukan oleh sekolah untuk dapat meningkatkan minat baca siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) minat baca siswa di kelas III SD Negeri 26 Kota Sorong. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan Kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 2 orang guru dan 2 siswa dari kelas III A dan kelas III B. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil angket dari kelas III A dengan jumlah siswa 15 hanya 6 siswa yang mendapatkan skor tertinggi, skor tertinggi mulai dari 92% sampai 82% dan skor terendah mulai dari 80% sampai 70% . Untuk kelas III B dari jumlah siswa 14 hanya 7 siswa yang mendapatkan nilai tertinggi, skor tertinggi mulai dari 90% sampai 82% sedangkan skor terendah mulai dari 80% sampai 72%. Dari hasil observasi ditemukan bahwa terdapat pojok baca disetiap kelas, dari hasil wawancara bahwa guru selalu membiasakan siswa untuk membaca sebelum belajar selama 15 menit dan antusias siswa yang mengisi waktu luang untuk membaca di pojok baca yang terdapat disetiap kelas namun faktor penghambatnya buku tidak diperbaharui secara berkala dan buku yang rusak sehingga kemungkinan besar siswa mudah merasa bosan.

Interest in reading is a reading activity carried out by schools to increase students' interest in reading. This research aims to describe (1) students' interest in reading in class III of SD Negeri 26 Sorong City. This type of research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this research were 2 teachers and 2 students from class III A and class III B. Data collection techniques used observation sheets, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The research results showed that the results of the questionnaire from class III A with a total of 15 students only 6 students got the highest scores, the highest scores ranging from 92% to 82% and the lowest scores ranging from 80% to 70%. For class III B, out of a total of 14 students, only 7 students got the highest score, the highest score ranging from 90% to 82% while the lowest score ranged from 80% to 72%. From the observation results it was found that there is a reading corner in every class, from the results of interviews that teachers always get students used to reading before studying for 15 minutes and students are enthusiastic about spending their free time reading in the reading corner in every class but the inhibiting factor is that books are not updated regularly and books are damaged so students are likely to get bored easily.
