Focus

  1. Islamic Theology (Aqidah): Examination of fundamental Islamic beliefs, doctrines, and theological principles. This includes discussions on the nature of God, prophethood, and eschatology.

  2. Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh): Study of Islamic law, including its principles, sources, and applications. This includes analysis of different schools of thought (madhabs) and contemporary issues in Islamic legal theory.

  3. Qur’anic Studies: Analysis of the Quranic text, its interpretation (Tafsir), and its role in Islamic life. This includes linguistic, historical, and thematic studies of the Quran.

  4. Hadith Studies: Research on the sayings, actions, and approvals of the Prophet Muhammad (Hadith). This includes authentication (Isnad) and interpretation of Hadith, as well as their application in Islamic practice.

  5. Islamic History and Civilization: Exploration of the historical development of Islamic societies, including political, social, and cultural histories from the early period to the present.

  6. Islamic Philosophy and Thought: Study of Islamic philosophical traditions, including contributions from Islamic philosophers and thinkers, and their influence on Islamic and Western intellectual traditions.

  7. Islamic Ethics and Morality: Examination of Islamic moral teachings, ethical principles, and their application in personal and social contexts.

  8. Contemporary Issues in Islam: Analysis of modern challenges and issues facing the Muslim world, including social, economic, and political aspects, and their impact on Islamic practice and thought.

  9. Islamic Spirituality and Mysticism (Tasawwuf): Exploration of Sufism, spiritual practices, and mysticism within Islam, including the role of Sufi orders and their contributions to Islamic spirituality.

  10. Interfaith Dialogue and Comparative Religion: Study of Islam in relation to other religions, including comparative analyses, interfaith dialogues, and the role of Islam in a global context.

Scope

  1. Original Research: Peer-reviewed articles presenting new findings and insights in various fields related to Islam, including theological, historical, and social research.

  2. Thematic Issues: Special issues or sections focusing on specific themes or topics within Islamic studies, often featuring contributions from multiple scholars exploring different aspects of the theme.

  3. Textual Analysis: Detailed studies of Islamic texts, including the Quran, Hadith, and classical Islamic literature, with scholarly commentary and interpretation.

  4. Historical Studies: Research on Islamic history, including the development of Islamic empires, societies, and cultural practices.

  5. Comparative Studies: Articles comparing Islamic teachings, practices, and beliefs with those of other religious and philosophical traditions.

  6. Legal and Jurisprudential Analysis: Examination of Islamic legal principles, contemporary legal issues, and the application of Islamic law in modern contexts.

  7. Ethical and Moral Studies: Research on Islamic ethical teachings, moral dilemmas, and their application to contemporary issues.

Peer Review Process

The authors of the article have to pay attention to the following editorial policy provisions:

  1. The manuscript that has been published or in the process of publication on another publisher may not be submitted. The author should confirm that the manuscript has not been published or in the process of being published by other publishers (in sealed).
  2. Manuscript submitted in digital form to the Editorial Board of Perspektif Agama dan Identitas (PAI) using the online submission provided on this website.
  3. Upon acceptance of the Editorial Board, the manuscript will be explored in general. Scripts which are considered incompatible with the mission of Journal's Perspektif Agama dan Identitas will be rejected at this stage, and will be communicated immediately to the author and the reason of disapproval.
  4. Manuscripts that pass the general study will be sent to at least two reviewers (blind reviewer) to be formally studied.
  5. Based on reviewers' comments and recommendations, the Editorial Board will make and communicate decisions regarding assessed manuscripts (accepted without revision, accepted with minor revisions, major revisions accepted, rejected due to the quality of writing and rejected because of ethical reasons writing scientific papers).
  6. Revised manuscript must be returned to the Editorial Board within a predetermined time. If the revised manuscript is sent past the deadline specified, it will be treated as new submissions.

Publication Frequency

PAI published 12 times a year.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethics Statement

PAI managed by jurnalhst.com.  Editing in the publishing process of PAI involves the role of Peer Reviewers. 

PAI has a high commitment in maintaining the highest standard in publication, including by upholding compliance to publication ethics. For this purpose, the Publication Ethics of this journal refers to the Regulation of the Head of Indonesian Institute of Sciences No. 5 of 2014 on the Code of Ethics of Scientific Publications. The Publication Ethics, which is intended to respond to cases of ethical misconduct in publications, is developed in four ethical standards, based on the parties participating in the production of a journal, which are Ethical Standard for Journal Manager, Ethical Standard for Editorial Board, Ethical Standard Peer Reviewers and Ethical Standard for Authors.

When it comes to implementation, articles that show lacks of compliance to the Publication Ethics will be denied publication in PAI. To prevent violations of the Publication Ethics, the Editorial Board applies software to detect plagiarism practices. In any case where violations of the Publication Ethics of a published article is detected subsequently, the Editorial Board will file a report to the appropriate authorities.
